Obituary of Janice Rae Galanos

Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Janice Hennecke Galanos passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024 after a lengthy illness. Janice was born on July 19, 1950 in Lodi, California to parents Irene and Willis Hennecke.

Janice grew up in Lodi and graduated from Lodi High School in 1968.  She worked in the banking business for many years at Bank of America.  She later worked as an office manager and at the San Joaquin District Attorney’s Office. After retiring Janice loved spoiling her grandsons and nephews. She also enjoyed spending time with her many friends.

Jan is survived by her beloved son Brad Eilert, grandsons Riley and Jake Eilert, her brother Scott Hennecke (Susie), nephews Grant and Noah Hennecke, and her cousin Denese Burkhardt.  She was preceded in death by her parents Irene and Willis Hennecke, her daughter-in-law Blake Eilert, and her husband Nick Galanos.

Janice was beautiful and funny.  She was always "the life of the party" and loved to dance, especially line dancing and the 2-step.  Jan will be missed by all who knew her.  Her family appreciates all of the help she received from Denese Burkhardt and Vicki Blunck.  They especially want to thank her best friend Betty Dobler for all the love and support she gave Jan throughout her life and especially during her illness.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
